Elite Dangerous – Dolphin

Dolphin cruising over Pictavul 2

The Dolphin is a small and affordable luxury passenger ship; it is a very affordable way to get started with passenger missions. Due to the good jump range it is also suitable for exploration, and it can also be used for transporting small amounts of cargo (max. 84t).

It is one of only three ships that can carry VIP passengers, that require a luxury cabin; the other ships are the larger and more expensive Orca and Beluga Liner. These are also some of the most beautiful ships in the game currently.

It has good jump range and is very good for those tourist missions where you need carry a small group to some remote tourist beacon and back again. Some of those missions has a reward of 2-4.000.000 CR so this ship is a very good investment for new players.

For bulk passenger missions you may need a bigger ship like the Orca, Beluga Liner or Python

The largest (Class 5) internal compartment is reserved for passenger cabins, cargo racks, hull and module reinforcements, which limits the use of the Dolphin for other purposes.

It has week shields and weapons so I don't recommend using it for combat.

If you take the Dolphin for a long trip be warned - she gets really hot when fuel scooping!
