Elite Dangerous: Imperial Courier

The Imperial Courier is a small multipurpose ship that is somewhere between a Viper and a Vulture.

It has stronger hull and shield than a Viper Mk III but less than a Vulture. It has 3 Class 2 (Medium) weapon slots and four utility slots. It handles similar to a Viper but is not as fast. I love the design of the cockpit - it really makes you feel like you are flying a small starfighter (see image below).

With a small cargo space of only 30t it is more efficient for combat than for trading or mining. The jump range is good and if you remove all weapons and internals, mount an "A"-class FSD and "D"-class in all other core internals, you can actually reach an impressive 30,1 ly! With engineering you can improve it further.

If you can afford it, the Imperial Courier is a beautiful ship with good jump range and agility, but for new players the Viper Mk III is much more affordable. For hardcore bounty hunters the Vulture is way more powerful and more agile.

Empire rank requirement: Master or higher.
