MiG-31BM Foxhound - HobbyBoss 81770
This is a very impressive kit! The box is huge and contains 15 (!) sprues + 3 sprues with clear parts + 2 sheets of photo etched parts + 2 decal sheets + some additional undercarriage parts and real rubber tyres! It is an expensive kit but well worth the price!
The cockpit is very detailed and includes options for three variants of the MiG-31 including decals for the cockpit instruments. The undercarriage cabins also have some nice details.
The model is designed for being build with the canopy open but I decided to build it with the canopy closed, which gave me some issues with getting it to fit properly.

Pros
- Lots of parts, will keep you busy for a very long time.
- New tools with nice details.
- Nice detailed cockpit with open for open or closed canopy.
- Option for three different cockpit variants.
- Easy to follow assembly instructions with 21 steps.
- Colored sheet with paint scheme and decal instructions.
Cons
- This kit contains only the KH-47M2 missile (which is the reason I bought this kit) but some would perhaps like options for other missiles to be included.
- If you decide to build the model with the canopy closed, you will likely have some issues getting it to fit properly – some cutting, filing and plastic putty required.
Conclusion
I have very much enjoyed building this kit. It is a large and impressive model with great details and some nice options.
