AW-101 Merlin TTI - Italeri 1295 - 1:72

The kit contains decals two Italian versions of the AW-101, however both use the same grey paint scheme. It is a beautiful and very impressive helicopter and I really enjoy the look of this kit. 

The 10 page black/white instructions contain 13 build steps and require some cutting and drilling so make sure to following the instructions carefully.

Pros

  • The kit can be build with rotors and tail stowed away for Navy use
  • Many details for a 1:72 kit
  • Decals for cockpit instruments

Cons

  • Black/white instructions only.
  • Color scheme + decals only for Italian version – would like the kit to include either Danish or German decals + color scheme too.

Conclusion


I will rate this kit slightly above average due to the many details and options for folding the rotors and tail.
