My Photo Gear: Old Gear

Cameras

Yashica 200AF

My first SLR camera. Not as advanced (or expensive) as the Nikon cameras from that time, but good for a beginner in photography.

After a trip to the beach some sand got into it and scatched the films and I used this as an excuse to upgrade to the next camera.

Yashica 230AF

My second SLR camera. Replacement for my old Yashica 200AF.

Nikon F80

My first Nicon camera. Very good SLR with many advanced features and yet easy to use.

Nikon D70

My first Nikon DSLR.

Nikon Coolpix 5900

Flash

Yashica CS-250AF

Flash for Yaschia 230AF. Ledetal 25 (35mm, ISO100). Supports 28-85mm zoom. With IR light for better autofokus. TTL autoflash.

Nikon Speedlight SB-28

Flash for Nikon F80. Very powerful flash with lots of features. Unfortunately not compatible with my D70/D300 DSLR.

Lenses

Sigma 28-200 f/3.5-5.6

Used with my Nikon F80. When I later went digital with the D70 I decided to replace this with a Nikon AF 28-200 to get a lighter zoom and better image quality.

Nikon AF 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G

Kit lense for Nikon D70. Very small and light, AF is fast even though it isn't AF-S (not compatible with most small/cheap camera bodies!) Feels like cheap plastic.

Nikon AF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED IF

On FX cameras this is a nice compact and light travel zoom, great value for the money. As for most zooms that spans so large an area image quality is not perfect, it is a little soft at the long end.

Nikon AF-S DX 18-70mm f/3.5-5.6G ED

Very nice "kit" lens for Nikon D70. It is very sharp and has only low distortion.

Nikon AF-S DX VR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF ED

Great allround zoom for traveling or walking around. Fast AF and VR. Very usefull zoom area in a relatively compact and light lens.

Sigma APO Macro 150mm f/2.8 EX DG HSM

Very good image quality! However slow autofocus and some focus hunting. Difficult to get good handheld shots due to slow autofocus and no OS (VR) but when you finally get a nice sharp photo the image quality is impressive!

Sigma APO 70-200mm f/2.8 II EX DG MACRO HSM

Good image quality - very sharp. Great lens for action shots. But recommend new version with OS (VR) instead.

Sigma APO Tele Converter 1,4x EX DG

Teleconverter optimized for Sigma lenses e.g. 70-200mm f/2.8. Gain 1,4 longer range at the price of 1 F-stop. No significant loss in image quality.
